Alarms

Why does Stop not end the alarm?

The alarm belongs to iOS, not to Wakey. When it rings, iOS shows its own alarm screen with a Stop control, the same one the Clock app has. No app can remove, hide or rename it, and a volume button does the same thing. So yes, you can press Stop without doing a mission. What you cannot do is make the alarm go away.

Press Stop and the ringing stops for now. In that same instant, before anything else, Wakey books another alarm one minute later, then opens on the mission. Ignore it and the phone rings again in a minute, with the same Stop. Each Stop buys sixty seconds and nothing more. Press Start mission and the app opens onto the mission while the alarm keeps ringing; it stops only when the chain is finished.

This holds because the "book another alarm" step runs inside the button press itself, before the app has even opened. Force-quitting, swiping the app away, locking or rebooting cannot undo it. While a wake is in progress the app shows nothing but the mission.

Honest limits: the quiet minute is real; turning the ringer all the way down makes the alarm quiet; powering off or deleting the app ends it, as with every iPhone alarm app.

My alarm did not ring

I pressed "Don't Allow" on the alarm permission

iOS remembers that answer permanently and offers no switch to change it. The only way back is to delete Wakey, reinstall it from the App Store, and choose Allow when iOS asks again. Your alarms are stored on the phone, so write them down first.

Can I snooze?

There is no snooze button. Stop is the snooze: it always comes back, a minute later, into the mission.

Why is the alarm quiet?

The ringer volume. Wakey cannot make itself louder than your ringer setting.

Missions

What missions are there?

Math problems, memory tiles, typing a phrase, shaking the phone, and "Hunt an object (AI)", which asks you to show the camera a household object, your hand, a selfie or a gesture. The free plan has one mission per alarm; Wakey Pro lets you chain up to five.

What is the safety valve?

After three failed attempts at one mission, Wakey offers to switch that mission to a math problem. The alarm still ends only when a mission is completed.

How does "Hunt an object (AI)" work?

While the mission runs, single camera frames are sent to our server and to OpenAI's API, which answers whether the asked-for thing is in view. Frames are never stored. It needs a network connection; each attempt lasts 45 seconds, and the safety valve applies. It is part of Wakey Pro.

Wakey Pro

What does Pro add?

Up to five alarms, mission chains of up to five, all ten sounds, and the camera mission. The free app is complete without it: one alarm, one mission, three sounds.

How much is it?

US$1.99 per week, or US$29.99 per year paid up front, or, where Apple offers it (iOS 26.4 or later, outside the United States and Singapore), US$4.99 per month with a 12-month commitment (US$59.88 in total); prices in other countries are set by the App Store. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Restore Purchases

Settings → Wakey Pro → Restore Purchases. Use it after reinstalling or on a new iPhone signed into the same Apple ID.

Manage or cancel

Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or Settings → Wakey Pro → Manage Subscription inside Wakey. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Accounts and sync

Do I need an account?

No. Wakey works fully without one.

What does signing in do?

It backs your alarms and wake history up to your account and brings them to another iPhone signed into the same account. Sign in with Apple or Google under Settings → Account.

I signed in with Apple and hid my email

That works fine. We only ever see Apple's relay address, and everything behaves the same.

My alarms are missing on my other iPhone

Check both phones are signed into the same account. Sync runs when the app opens and after every change, so give it a moment with a network connection.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm. It removes the account and everything backed up to it, permanently. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm once more so Wakey can disconnect your Apple ID too. The alarms on your iPhone stay and keep ringing.

What happens to Wakey Pro when I sign out?

It stays with your Apple ID on this phone. If the app ever shows "Free plan" after signing out or in, tap Restore Purchases.

Privacy and analytics

Wakey records a few usage events to see which parts of the app work; there is no switch for this in the app. What it sends, how to object, and everything else about your data is in the Privacy Policy, also linked from Settings → Legal.
