Terms of Use

Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of Wakey. They cover what the app is, what you can expect from it, and what you agree to when you use it. By using the Wakey app or this website (together, the "App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Your data is covered separately by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

What Wakey is

Wakey is an alarm app for iPhone. An alarm rings at full system priority and, when you press Stop, books itself again a minute later, until you complete a mission: a math problem, a memory sequence, a phrase to type, a shake, or finding an object with the camera. Some features require the Wakey Pro subscription; which ones may change as the App develops.

Wakey is not a safety device

Whether an alarm rings depends on your iPhone, not on us: the alarm permission you granted, the ringer volume, the Focus settings you chose, the battery, and the version of iOS. Apple's system, not the App, decides whether an alarm sounds. Keep a second alarm for anything you cannot afford to miss. We are not liable for a missed, late or quiet alarm.

Your account

An account is optional. If you sign in, you do so with Apple or Google; we never see or store a password. You are responsible for keeping access to your device and your sign-in account secure, and for activity that happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent; the Privacy Policy says exactly what is removed and what stays on your iPhone.

Who can use it

Wakey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly provide it to them. If you are under the age at which you can consent to data processing where you live — 13 to 16 depending on the country, in the European Union — please use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who is then responsible for your use of it under these terms.

Your content stays yours

Your alarms and your wake history are yours. You give us only the narrow permission needed to run the App for you: to store them under your account, sync them between your own iPhones, and show them back to you. That permission exists solely to operate the App, it is not exclusive, and it ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not sell, license, rent or share your content, and we do not use it to train artificial-intelligence models or let anyone else do so.

The camera mission

"Hunt an object (AI)" sends single camera frames to our server and to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to decide whether the asked-for thing is in view; the frames are not stored. The decision can be wrong, which is why a mission can be switched to a math problem after three failed attempts. You are responsible for where you point the camera: do not film people who have not agreed to it.

Subscriptions

Wakey Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple ID. The price and the billing period are shown before you confirm, and the App Store is where the purchase happens — we never see your payment details.

Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, that right applies and is exercised through Apple.

Things you agree not to do

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or where we must to comply with the law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

Availability and changes

We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering the App. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect, and you can cancel. If we discontinue the App entirely while you hold a paid subscription, your remedy is a refund of the unused portion, obtained through Apple.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will post notice on this page and in the App's release notes at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the updated terms.

Who provides Wakey

Wakey is made and operated by Yun Gu Ko, an individual developer based in British Columbia, Canada. There is no company behind it. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that individual. Contact: email appwakey@gmail.com.

Apple

No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any alarm will ring. You use it at your own risk. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, a missed appointment or loss of goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, the consumer-protection rights of your own country are not affected by this choice.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
